The Home

The contemporary and bespoke decor has been diligently selected to ensure total well being and comfort. The well-appointed single or dual bedrooms have en-suite facilities equipped with support features and electronic nurse call functionality for complete peace of mind.

We encourage residents to personalise bedrooms with photos and items important to them, rooms can be personalised prior to the day of admission to give a feeling of homeliness and so ease any anxiety when moving to their new home.

Each room has its own terrace with access to the splendor of the manicured and secure gardens containing numerous mature fruiting tropical trees, with mobility within the grounds being encouraged. Communal lounges and dining areas craft a feeling of belonging and enthuse interactive discussion, defining our philosophy of mental and physical stimulation.

The Dining

The salubrious and modern kitchens cater to everyone’s dietary, religious and ethnic needs. Our delicious home-cooked menu, made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients can be enjoyed in the spacious dining rooms, alternatively residents may dine in the privacy of their own room.

As with every facet of the home, we want to excel in the kitchen too, we feel that engaging with our residents to create menus they will enjoy every day is one way to do that. The kitchen is delighted to receive favourite recipes from our residents and their families, we realise the most enticing recipes tend to be carefully guarded family heirlooms!

 

The Activities

Assisting residents to engage in meaningful and purposeful activities is a fundamental part of Cinnamon Care Services’ principles. Such activities promote self esteem and help maintain the skills that the person still has, as well as providing an opportunity for enjoyment and social interaction. We use a variety of settings in and around the home to stimulate interests and also integrate residents into the workings of the home by joining our Care team in daily activities such as cooking and gardening. We aim for activities to be wide ranging and include;  gentle indoor exercises, horticulture, painting and craft, music, stimulus programmes, etc.

 

The Care Team

Our staff undergo, reference, security and qualification checks by awarding bodies prior to becoming part of the care family. During the initial induction all staff receive in-house training by either the Director of Care or qualified senior staff in the following core subjects:

  • Care Code of Conduct
  • Confidentiality
  • Health and Safety
  • Vulnerable Adults Protection
  • Personal Care Tasks

The team must attain the globally recognised UK NVQ level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care by studying and working on site. All laundry, maintenance and kitchen staff receive training in Health and Safety, Infection Control, Moving and Handling and Fire Safety.

 

The Philosophy of Care

We recognize the decision to join the home by the prospective resident or their loved ones, is often a difficult one driven by the need to obtain round the clock professional care. Every person brings with them their own unique life history and ways of being. Understanding the life history of a client is an essential part of our care system, and such histories may be given by the client themselves or their family and friends. The assessment enables us to gain an essential insight about the life of the client and better understand softer elements such as their favourite foods, friendships past and present, hobbies, previous occupations etc. This information is extremely valuable to those providing care to ensure that a truly holistic view of the client and their care needs is established. Whilst we provide twenty-four hour nursing care, we encourage independence and will give as much or as little assistance as is required. With the majority of our residents requiring only residential assistance having chosen to reside at Cinnamon Grove for its inspirational surroundings and remarkable service.
